A Federal High Court in Kaduna State has declined to grant bail to former governor Nasir El-Rufai, adjourning the case until March 31, 2026.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that El-Rufai, who appeared before the court on Tuesday, is facing charges filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission over alleged money laundering.

At the hearing, both the prosecution and defence presented their arguments. Counsel to the defendant, Ukpon Akpan, appealed for bail, citing his client’s constitutional rights and the need to adequately prepare for trial.

The prosecution, however, opposed the request, maintaining that the allegations are serious and warning that releasing the defendant could affect ongoing investigations.
