EKO HOT BLOG reports that Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia gave the order after Gololo pleaded not guilty to a seven-count charge filed against him by the Inspector-General of Police.
The charges are linked to comments allegedly made by the retired military officer concerning the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
Following the plea, the court adjourned the matter till June 15 for the hearing of Gololo’s bail application.
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia subsequently ordered that the defendant be remanded pending the determination of the bail request.
Gololo was represented in court by his counsel, Mohammed Habu.
The Inspector-General of Police arraigned the retired officer over allegations that a viral video and Facebook posts attributed to him violated provisions of the Cybercrimes Act and the Penal Code.
According to the charges, Gololo allegedly claimed in a video that Akpabio stated northerners must vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election or risk being expelled from Nigeria.
The defendant, however, denied all seven counts brought against him before the court.

Meanwhile, the office of the Senate President had earlier dismissed the allegation linked to Akpabio, describing the claims as false and malicious.
