The team conducted a second-round assessment of Inclusive Education Units aimed at enhancing learning conditions for pupils with special needs.
During the visit, the committee evaluated existing facilities, engaged with teachers and pupils, and reviewed the day-to-day learning environment, identifying key challenges affecting the delivery of inclusive education across the schools.
The schools visited include RCM Primary School, Okunraye in Lekki LCDA, Ibeju High School, Ibeju Agbe in Ibeju-Lekki LGA, and Addo Primary School, Langbasa in Eti-Osa East LGA.
Speaking during the inspection, the committee reiterated its resolve to ensure that children with special needs receive quality education in a supportive and well-equipped environment.
“We are committed to improving the learning conditions of these children and ensuring they have access to the resources they need to thrive,” a member of the committee stated.
The initiative received a major boost with the approval of the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, who endorsed the renovation and furnishing of the three Inclusive Education Units.
“These schools will be upgraded with modern facilities, including desks, chairs, assistive learning tools, and specialized educational equipment to support effective teaching and learning,” the committee assured.
The intervention is expected to significantly improve access to quality education for pupils with special needs, reinforcing the Lagos State Government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable education for all.
