Dangote Industries Limited has once again been recognised as Africa’s most admired indigenous brand, extending its dominance in the category for the eighth year in a row.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the honour was announced during the 16th edition of the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands rankings held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The annual survey, which evaluates consumer perception across the continent, covered 30 African countries representing the majority of Africa’s population and economic activity.
In this year’s assessment, Dangote secured the top position among African brands in the aided recall category, outperforming major competitors such as MTN and Vodacom. It also placed second in spontaneous brand recall, trailing only MTN.

The company further retained its title as Africa’s leading industrial brand and was ranked the top African brand contributing positively to the continent’s development.
The recognition reflects its role in driving industrial growth, creating jobs and supporting economic transformation through investments in sectors including cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals, sugar, salt, packaging, energy and logistics.
According to Brand Africa, African brands continue to face stiff competition from international companies, with locally owned brands accounting for only a small share of the continent’s most admired brands.
Brand Africa Chairman, Thebe Ikalafeng, stressed the importance of supporting indigenous brands, noting that economic growth on the continent depends largely on Africans embracing products and services developed within Africa.

Dangote also received recognition for its contributions to sustainability and social impact, ranking among the continent’s leading brands acknowledged for supporting communities and environmental development.
The latest rankings placed Dangote alongside leading African brands such as MTN and Ethiopian Airlines on a list that also featured global giants including Nike, Apple, Samsung, Adidas and Coca-Cola.
The survey revealed that African brands represented only 15 per cent of the Top 100 rankings, while European, North American and Asian brands accounted for the majority of positions.
Adding to the company’s achievements, Dangote Industries’ Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, was named among Africa’s top marketing and communications professionals in the inaugural Africa CMO 100 list.
The recognition, organised by Brand Africa in partnership with leading continental organisations, honours executives whose contributions have strengthened brand reputation, influenced consumer perception and supported business growth across Africa.

Chiejina emerged as one of a select group of professionals recognised for excellence in corporate communications, branding and reputation management.
The latest accolades further strengthen Dangote Industries’ reputation as one of Africa’s most influential corporate brands.
Last year, the company was inducted into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame in recognition of its consistent performance in the rankings over the years.
Its President and Chief Executive Officer, Aliko Dangote, was also previously honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to industrialisation and enterprise development across the continent.
