Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has urged Nigerians to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s performance.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Dickson, who currently represents Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made the remarks on Tuesday during an appearance on Politics Today aired by Channels Television.

He blamed the APC-led administration for the country’s current challenges, arguing that governance has deteriorated since the party assumed power.

According to him, the party lacked a well-defined development plan from the outset, claiming its primary objective in 2014 was to unseat former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 elections.
Dickson recalled that the APC came together mainly to defeat the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but questioned what concrete agenda was put in place after gaining power.
He argued that the promise of “change” has not translated into meaningful progress, insisting that the situation in the country has worsened across key sectors.

The senator further expressed concern over rising corruption, economic hardship, insecurity, and what he described as a lack of commitment to democratic values and national inclusiveness.
He maintained that Nigerians are now witnessing outcomes that, in his view, surpass the challenges previously attributed to the PDP administration.
The APC rose to power in 2015 on promises to curb corruption, revive the economy, and address insecurity.
