Iraye-Oke community in Epe, Lagos State, witnessed a massive convergence of dignitaries, traditional leaders, political figures, and well-wishers as they gathered for the 8-day Fidau prayer and final burial of the late Otunba Adebowale sikiru Olusesi.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the solemn prayer session, organized by Reformed Ogboni Fraternity (ROF), Olusesi children and family attracted leaders and members of the fraternity from different parts of the country, who came in unity to honour the life and legacy of the deceased.

Adding prestige to the event was the presence of notable dignitaries from within and beyond the community, including Wale Raji, Chief Wale Mogaji, and High Chief Kadiri Odedeogbo, among others, all of whom came to pay their last respects.
Islamic clerics led the congregation in prayers, offering supplications for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon the deceased, while urging attendees to live lives of purpose and righteousness.
“Every soul shall taste death, and it is the legacy of good deeds that continues to speak long after one is gone,” a cleric said.
Family members described the late Otunba as a man of honour, compassion, and unwavering dedication to humanity.
“He was a father to many and a source of strength to everyone around him. His life was a blessing to us all,” a family representative stated.
Leaders of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity, who turned out in large numbers from different regions, paid glowing tributes to the deceased, noting his commitment to the ideals of the fraternity and his contributions to societal growth.
“Otunba Wale Olusesi embodied integrity, unity, and service. His legacy will remain a guiding light for all of us,” an ROF leader remarked.
Other community leaders and associates also shared heartfelt reflections, describing him as a bridge-builder and a man deeply rooted in the progress and peace of his people.
“His impact is visible in the lives he touched and the unity he promoted. He will be greatly missed,” one attendee said.
The Fidau prayer concluded with special prayers for the repose of his soul and for the family he left behind, asking Almighty Allah to grant them the strength to bear the loss.
The large turnout and presence of high-profile personalities stood as a powerful testament to the enduring legacy, influence, and respect commanded by the late Otunba Wale Olusesi, whose memory will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
