Dr. Hakeem Shittu has officially received his reappointment letter as the Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Ekohotblog reports that the letter was handed over to him on the 17th of January, 2025 by the Lagos State Head of Service, showing the government’s confidence in his hard work and dedication to improving education in the state.

During his first term, Dr. Shittu made great progress in improving access to education and introducing new ideas to help students and teachers.
His reappointment means he will continue the good work and bring more positive changes to schools in Lagos State.
Speaking after the ceremony, Dr. Shittu said, “I am thankful to the Lagos State Government for giving me this opportunity again.
Education is very important for the future of our children, and I will continue to work hard to ensure every child has the chance to learn in a good environment.”
The Lagos State Head of Service praised Dr. Shittu’s efforts so far.
“Dr. Shittu has shown great leadership and commitment to improving education.
This reappointment is well-earned, and we believe he will continue to deliver excellent results,” he said.
Parents and teachers in Lagos have also welcomed the news, describing Dr. Shittu as a leader who truly cares about the education system.
“He has done so much to improve schools, train teachers, and make education better for our children,” a parent said.
