Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have reportedly taken into custody the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Mustapha Abdullahi, over alleged money laundering allegations.
Eko Hot Blog reports that a source within the anti-corruption agency disclosed on Wednesday that Abdullahi was arrested in Abuja and is currently being detained by the commission for investigation.

The official, who requested anonymity because he was not authorised to comment publicly on the matter, stated that the EFCC is investigating suspected money laundering involving the commission’s funds.

Attempts to obtain an official response from the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, were unsuccessful as he could not be reached at the time the report was filed.
