Efforts to improve safety and security in Lagos are taking a new direction, as the Lagos State Security Trust Fund explores ways to support locally made security equipment that can better serve the needs of residents.
Eko Hot Blog reports that during a visit to the production facility of Equipment and Protective Applications International Limited, the Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Ayo Ogunsan, said the move is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s ability to produce its own security tools instead of relying heavily on imports.

At the facility, discussions were held with EPAIL’s leadership, including Kola Balogun, on how both organisations can work together to supply high-quality protective gear such as bulletproof vests and helmets for security agencies.
EPAIL, known for producing defence-grade equipment locally, reaffirmed its commitment to developing solutions tailored to Nigeria’s unique security challenges.
