The goal of the event was to teach people about the importance of eye care, especially for children. Many students who had trouble seeing were given free eyeglasses to help improve their vision, while others received medicine for their eye problems.

Dr. Awolesi Adeleke, the head doctor at the event, talked about how important it is to take care of children’s eyes early. He explained that poor eyesight can make it harder for kids to do well in school and enjoy life.

“Some children don’t know they have vision problems, and this affects their learning. This event is about giving them the chance to see clearly and do better in school.

We are thankful to Epe Local Government and the Executive Chairman, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, for supporting this event,” Dr. Adeleke said.

Hon. Animashaun also spoke in a video shared on social media, highlighting the importance of the eye care program. In her message, she said, “Our children’s well-being is a top priority.

We will continue to create opportunities that improve their health and help them succeed in school. This initiative is just the beginning of many more to come.”

Her video message received widespread support from community members, who praised the effort to provide free eye care for students.

Parents also expressed their gratitude for the initiative. One parent, who accompanied her daughter to the event, thanked Hon. Animashaun for the program.

“This is such a wonderful initiative. My daughter has been having trouble seeing in class, and now she has the glasses she needs.

I really appreciate the efforts of the chairman and everyone involved in making this happen,” she said.

Teachers from the participating schools echoed these sentiments, noting that many students who struggled with vision problems can now get the help they need. One teacher remarked,

“This will really help them in their studies. We are grateful to Hon. Animashaun and the Nigerian Optometric Association for this wonderful program.”

Students were also excited about receiving their free eyeglasses. Ten-year-old Aisha shared,
