Located near the Berger Bridge T-Junction in Epe, the newly completed mosque drew a large turnout of respected Islamic scholars, clerics, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to witness the memorable occasion.
The mosque project was undertaken by the children of the deceased as a way of preserving her legacy and ensuring continuous spiritual reward (Sadaqah Jariyah) on her behalf.
The late Alhaja Nofiat Adetoun Adeyemi was widely recognized for her dedication to the growth of Islam and her commitment to humanitarian service within the Epe community.
Speaking during the commissioning, her son, M.O. Adeyemi, described the project as a fulfillment of their desire to uphold their mother’s values. “Our mother lived a life devoted to Islam and service to humanity.
This mosque is a reflection of her legacy, and we are committed to sustaining it through acts that benefit the community,” he said.
Delivering the lecture at the event, Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa commended the family for the initiative, describing it as a noble and rewarding investment in the hereafter.
“Building a mosque is one of the most enduring forms of charity. This will continue to yield rewards for the deceased while serving as a place of worship and learning for generations,” he stated.
He also offered prayers for the repose of her soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Aljanah Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings.
The commissioning ceremony was marked by spiritual reflections, prayers, and goodwill messages from attendees, all of whom praised the family for honoring their mother in such a meaningful and impactful way.
The Alhaja Nofiat Adetoun Adeyemi Central Mosque is expected to serve as a hub for worship, Islamic teachings, and community engagement, further strengthening religious life in Epe.
