The All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has called on opposition parties to shift their focus toward rebuilding and preparing for future elections, rather than challenging what it described as already concluded 2027 mandates.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Wednesday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said opposition groups should concentrate on strengthening their structures, refining their strategies, and positioning themselves for the 2031 elections.

According to him, while opposition parties play a vital role in democratic governance, their actions must be rooted in realism, responsibility, and respect for the will of the people.
“The outcome of recent elections reflects the confidence of Nigerians in the leadership, vision, and developmental direction of the APC,” the statement said.
The party also criticised opposition groups for what it described as weak organisation and lack of unity, noting that last-minute alliances formed ahead of primaries pointed to poor preparation.
It urged them to channel their energy into internal reforms instead of what it called distractions and unproductive rhetoric over settled electoral outcomes.
The APC further stressed that its priority remains governance, including improving infrastructure, expanding economic opportunities, strengthening security, and enhancing the welfare of citizens.
It encouraged opposition parties to adopt a more constructive approach by accepting political realities and contributing positively to the peace and progress of the state.

“The road to 2031 offers enough time for reflection, reforms, and the development of credible alternatives,” the statement added.
