EKO HOT BLOG reports that Sani addressed the issue during an interview on Symfoni TV while discussing internal matters within the Peoples Democratic Party and the growing public interest in the relationship between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his successor, Fubara.
According to the political analyst, Wike has made it clear that he does not want to be asked whether the Rivers State governor will seek a second term in office.
Sani said the former governor has chosen not to discuss the matter publicly for now.
He explained that Wike’s stance appears to be aimed at avoiding early political debates that could trigger fresh divisions within the party.
According to him, conversations about re election or succession long before official party activities begin often create confusion among supporters and party members.
Sani noted that when political actors begin discussing possible candidates too early, different interpretations may arise and tensions could develop among party supporters.
He added that such discussions may weaken unity within political parties if they are not properly managed.
Sani said many party leaders usually prefer to wait until the time for party primaries or candidate selection before making public comments about potential contenders.

He said, “Wike recently told me that nobody should ask him whether Fubara is going to do a second term or not. This is to avoid premature debates that can scatter the party. For now, the people of Rivers State are watching closely, hoping that this political ‘robasese’ does not stop the development of the state. Wike is keeping his cards close to his chest.”
