EKO HOT BLOG reports that the governor made the remark on Wednesday during the inauguration of five commissioners who were recently confirmed by the lawmakers.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onwuka Nzeshi, said Fubara noted that the detailed screening had already prepared the commissioners for the responsibilities ahead.
He explained that the process carried out by the Assembly was thorough enough and had already served as a form of orientation for the appointees.
Fubara said the rigorous exercise made it unnecessary for him to issue additional directives or formal charges to the commissioners.
He, however, urged them to remain committed and give their best in serving the people of Rivers State.
He said, “Ordinarily, I am supposed to charge you on your responsibilities and how to operate. But that has been taken care of by the screening at the Assembly. I believe that going through one of the most rigorous screening, it is enough to say that for those of you who succeeded you are fit and ready to deliver to our dear State.
“So, there is no further charge. The charge, the screening was the charge, so I wish you the best as I don’t expect anything less than the best from you”.
The commissioners sworn in during the ceremony were Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Lekue Kenneth and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
