Five brilliant students from Ibeju-Lekki Local Government have been awarded ₦100,000 scholarships each to support their education, in a move designed to promote academic excellence and youth empowerment.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the scholarships, presented at the Council Secretariat in Igando-Oloja, were facilitated by the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Issa Maruf Olayinka, under the administration of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. Each package covers tuition, books, and stipends for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Olayinka commended the students for their resilience and urged other youths to pursue excellence.
“Education is the cornerstone of progress in Ibeju-Lekki. These scholarships are not mere financial aid but investments in our shared future,” he said.

The beneficiaries are:
- Rasaq Nofisat Omowunmi – Medical Laboratory Science, Lagos State University
- Olajide James Temiloluwa – Civil Engineering, Lagos State University
- Wakilu Samuel O. – International Relations, Lagos State University
- Karufi Alimah – Biochemistry, University of Ilesha
- Omoshalewa Firdaous – Industrial Engineering and Production, Lagos State University
It will be recalled that on February 26, 2025, Mr. Olayinka presented JAMB forms to the five beneficiaries, who later excelled in their examinations. He also visited their parents and guardians to ensure strong engagement throughout the process.
The ceremony attracted dignitaries, including NYCN State Treasurer Comrade Ibrahim Ogunbanwo, NAILS President Mopelola Adunni Hadiza, Technical Adviser on Youths and Sports Development Ambassador Oladimeji Ibrahim, NULGE President Comrade Liafis Lawal Adaranijo, and other youth leaders.
