The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has urged the public to disregard a viral video allegedly showing Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi downplaying the party’s chances of unseating Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The party described the video as misleading and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued on Saturday in Osogbo, the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, alleged that the clip was being circulated by members of the Accord Party.
He described those behind its circulation as “failed political entities,” adding that Ogunbiyi’s comments at the meeting were twisted to create a false impression.
“There’s no doubting the fact that the failed political entities who have been circulating the innocently made but twisted content of the message of Dr. Ogunbiyi… did not disappoint the discerning minds that they were up to a mischief,” the statement read.
The APC reaffirmed its confidence in Ogunbiyi, describing him as “one of the credible, trusted and dependable chieftains of our party.”
The party also accused its political opponents of deliberately misrepresenting Ogunbiyi’s remarks for selfish interests.
“One wonders why the political agents of rifts… would resort to a misrepresentation of fact to oil their famished and dwindling political interest,” it stated.
According to the party, Ogunbiyi has consistently demonstrated loyalty and commitment, actively contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening the APC’s chances in future elections.
The statement further questioned why the viral video failed to capture portions of Ogunbiyi’s speech where he reaffirmed his support for the party.
“May we ask the unsolicited purveyors of the distorted video recording why they chose to prioritise the clip… without showing the area where Ogunbiyi reiterated his absolute commitment towards the concerted efforts of our party,” it added.
The APC called on its members and the general public to ignore the video, insisting it was a distortion aimed at creating confusion.
The party maintained that Ogunbiyi remains committed to its goal of reclaiming Osun State in the next governorship election.
