Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 43-year-old man, Idowu Ashafa, for allegedly being in possession of human body parts suspected to be linked to ritual activities.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspect was apprehended in the early hours of Friday by officers from the Igbesa Police Division during a routine patrol led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Solotan Owolabi.

According to the police, Ashafa was intercepted while carrying a nylon bag containing a fresh human head, two human palms, and other body parts.
Preliminary findings suggest that the remains may have been exhumed from a grave in Ido Itekun Village, Igbesa.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the tools allegedly used in carrying out the act were also recovered, while the scene of the crime has been documented.
He added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The police assured residents of their commitment to tackling criminal activities in the state and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies.
