The White House has accused federal judges of “usurping” executive power following a series of legal rulings against former President Donald Trump’s administration, including a decision blocking the deportation of Venezuelan migrants.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt alleged that the rulings were part of a coordinated effort by the “far left” to appoint judges who act as “partisan activists” against the Republican-led administration.
“Not only are they usurping the will of the president and the chief executive of our country, but they are undermining the will of the American public,” Leavitt stated during a press briefing on Wednesday.
Leavitt singled out District Judge James Boasberg, who over the weekend ordered the suspension of deportation flights carried out under an obscure wartime law. Trump’s administration had invoked the 200-year-old legislation to deport Venezuelan gang members as part of its broader crackdown on undocumented migrants.
Calling Boasberg an “activist judge” and a “Democrat activist,” Leavitt insisted that the ruling was an overreach of judicial authority.
Trump himself condemned the judge, calling for his impeachment, branding him a “Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge” and an “agitator” who was appointed by former President Barack Obama.
His comments sparked a rare response from Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who rebuked Trump’s impeachment demand.
“For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision,” Roberts said in a statement.
Despite the rebuke, Trump doubled down on his criticism, posting on his Truth Social network that if a president “doesn’t have the right to throw murderers and criminals out of our country because of a Radical Left Lunatic Judge, then our country is in very big trouble.”
Trump’s administration has faced several legal setbacks recently, with judges halting key executive actions. A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the shutdown of the U.S. Agency for International Development, an initiative spearheaded by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. On the same day, another judge suspended the administration’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, citing equality concerns.
Musk, a vocal Trump supporter, also criticized the judiciary, calling the legal rulings a “judicial coup” on his social media platform, X.

Trump, the first convicted felon to serve in the White House, has a long history of attacking judges involved in his legal battles. However, his administration now appears poised for a direct confrontation with the judiciary as it seeks to assert stronger executive authority.
