Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, a member of the House of Representatives, has reportedly passed away.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Adams, who represented Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State as a first-term member, succumbed to a prolonged illness on Tuesday morning.
Until his death, he served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports.
The former footballer with Remo Stars, Adams had also been the General Manager of Kada City Football Club of Kaduna.

He was elected under the Labour Party platform during the last general election.
Adams is the second House member to die within the past week, following Hon. Akinremi Olaide of Ibadan North, and the fourth since the House’s inauguration in June 2023.
At the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the House spokesman, Hon. Akintunde Rotimi, and the Chairman of the Kaduna caucus, Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, for confirmation were unsuccessful.
