Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been honoured as the Grand Patron of the Bodex Social Media Hangout (BSMH) Initiative in recognition of his outstanding contributions to digital engagement and media innovation.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the organisers announced the honour in a statement on Tuesday, noting that it comes ahead of the sixth edition of the event, themed “Social Media and AI Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services, and the Society.”

The BSMH delegation, led by Convener Bodex Hungbo, paid a courtesy visit to the governor at his office, where she commended his administration’s policies supporting media innovation and youth-focused initiatives.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s digital-forward policies and open engagement with citizens have positioned Lagos as a model for digital governance and media inclusion in Africa,” Hungbo said.
In his response, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation for the recognition and commended the BSMH team for promoting responsible media use and bridging the gap between social media and societal development.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote digital literacy, innovation, and youth empowerment across Lagos State.
As part of activities marking BSMH 6.0, the governor is expected to deliver the keynote address during the Grand Finale, where he will also receive the “Most Digital Media Friendly Governor of the Year” award for his visionary leadership and use of technology to enhance transparency and citizen engagement.
Now in its sixth year, the Bodex Social Media Hangout continues to provide a platform for social media users, innovators, and stakeholders to explore emerging trends, responsible media use, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on society.
