EKO HOT BLOG reports that Fast-rising skitmaker, Isaac Ayomide Olayiwola, popularly known as Layi Wasabi, has clinched the ‘Best Digital Content Creator’ Award category of the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) on Saturday night.

The lanky and amiable creative won the award for his work in ‘Medical Negligence and Copyright Infringement’.

Layi Wasabi, who is winning his first award in AMVCA, defeated Adebola Adeyela (Lizzy Jay) in National Treasure, Elozonam Ogbolu, Lina Idoko and Jemima Osunde in Hello Neighbour and Apaokagi-Greene in The Boyfriend of Maryam.

The budding talent, who spoke to select journalists, said it was of great honour for him to win the AMVC award as he had put a lot of work into his craft.

He commended fellow nominees in the category as well and urged all creatives not to give up on their dreams.

 

The Best Digital Content category shines a spotlight on the flourishing world of online entertainment, showcasing the talents of creators who have captivated audiences through their entertaining, exciting, and creative content.

Layi mounted the stage, and in his usual hilarious style, entertained the audience at the event while delivering his speech in appreciation of the award.

“Thank you, MultiChoice, for granting me this award among multiple contestants,” he said.

The ceremony kicked off on Friday with a vibrant Cultural Day celebration.

 

He won the award with his explicit roles in one of his comedy skits, ‘Medical Negligence and Copyright Infringement’.

A video making the rounds online captured the heartwarming moment the 22-year-old skitmaker was called on the stage by comedian Basketmouth.

Overwhelmed with joy, Layi dedicated the award to God and his fans.

Additionally, he appreciated the award organizers for giving him the opportunity. In his words, “E pele ooo my brothers and sisters.

Firstly, I want to thank almighty God. I want to thank my father and mother, they are watching me from Oshogbo.

Thank you for raising me well”. “I want to thank my management, family and friends. Thank you all.

I want to thank multi-choice Award, despite their multiple choices, they nominated me twice”.
