A Magistrate Court sitting in Damaturu has sentenced 22 year old Rabilu Sani to 12 years in prison after he was found guilty of s3xually assaulting a four year old girl in Jakusko Local Government Area of the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the presiding judge of Magistrate Court 1 in Injiwaji ruled that the offence was proven and handed down the sentence without the option of a fine.

During the proceedings, the court also addressed earlier speculation about the convict’s health status, confirming that medical tests showed he is not living with HIV.
The Yobe State Government played a key role in pursuing the case, with the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Ya Jalo Badama, leading efforts to ensure justice for the victim after months of legal proceedings.
