Man Detained for Allegedly Killing Mother, Mutilating Son in Abia

Amadi Alozie has been detained by youths in Umudosi, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, following allegations that he killed his mother with a cutlass.

He is also accused of mutilating his son’s genitalia, reportedly for ritual purposes.

According to sources, Alozie attacked his young son, causing the boy to scream and attract the attention of his mother, Mrs. Alozie.

When she arrived to investigate the commotion, Alozie allegedly turned the cutlass on her, inflicting severe injuries that led to her death.

The injured boy has been taken to the hospital for treatment. After the attack, Alozie attempted to flee but was captured by local youths and handed over to the police.

Abia State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed that the report has been received at the Eastern Ngwa Divisional Headquarters.

She stated, “The victim has been taken to the hospital, the suspect is in custody, and an investigation is underway.”
