The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Ejim-Emekah, has reaffirmed the Army’s partnership with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) to enhance security across the Niger Delta, aiming to protect critical oil infrastructure and sustain Nigeria’s crude oil output.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the GOC made the remarks on Wednesday at Effurun Barracks, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, during the commissioning of newly reconstructed and furnished facilities, including Sector 1, Joint Task Force South-South Headquarters and the 3 Battalion Headquarters, projects sponsored by Tantita.

The upgraded facilities include 13 new offices at 3 Battalion Headquarters and the renovation of 22 offices at Sector 1. Ejim-Emekah said the improved infrastructure would enhance command, control, and administrative efficiency.

He highlighted that partnerships with credible private-sector operators like Tantita have strengthened the Army’s capacity to tackle oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other economic sabotage, contributing to the gradual increase in Nigeria’s crude oil production.
“Tantita has been instrumental not just in Delta State, but also in Rivers and Bayelsa States, and recently completed a major project in Port Harcourt without any prompt,” the GOC said.

He also recalled his initial inspection of military facilities upon assuming office on January 24 last year, describing the conditions as “not befitting an operational infantry battalion.”
High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security, stated that sustainable security relies on public-private collaboration, noting the company’s close engagement with government agencies, including the Nigerian Army, since August 2022, to protect Nigeria’s energy sector.
Pondi added that the project, which began in August 2025, represents not only physical infrastructure but also investment in personnel, capacity, and operational readiness.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by senior military officers, representatives of sister security agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders, showcasing the impact of private-sector participation in national security and oil production growth.
