Nigerian Lecturer Sets New Record with 155-Hour Marathon Lecture
Nigerian lecturer Dr. Nsikak Akpan has successfully completed a marathon lecture, setting a new record of 155 hours, 14 minutes, and 10 seconds.
He accomplished this remarkable feat over seven days, from Monday, September 23, to Sunday, September 29, 2024.
The previous record for the longest lecture was held by Indian Professor Arvin Mishra, who lectured for 139 hours, 52 minutes, and 42 seconds in 2014.

If verified by Guinness World Records, Dr. Akpan would become the first Nigerian lecturer to achieve this milestone.
As the Provost of Foreign Links College in Moro Ife-North Local Government Area of Osun State, Dr. Akpan engaged his audience on the topic of the Relationship Between Man’s Environment and Health throughout the marathon session.

Despite facing some health challenges during the lecture, he persevered and exceeded his target of 150 hours.
Upon completing the task, students in the hall erupted in jubilation, celebrating their lecturer’s incredible achievement.
