Intercepted 21 Children illegally transported to Nigeria
The Children are aged between 7 and 15 years
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) stopped 21 children at the Geidam border in Yobe State on Thursday. These children are believed to be victims of human trafficking.
The NIS official in Yobe, Sani Sule-Jega, said the children were being taken from Magama in Niger State to Niger Republic. He handed them over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for investigation.

The children, aged between 7 and 15, were traveling without any documents, which made officers suspicious. Sule-Jega said their job is to secure borders and manage migration, and stopping these children shows their commitment.

A man named Abubakar Sadiq, who was taking the children, said their parents sent them to find cheap schools in Maine, Niger Republic. However, the NIS handed him, the driver, and the children over to NAPTIP for further investigation.
