The Flying Antelopes took an early lead with a goal from Saviour Isaac, but the visitors equalized just before halftime thanks to Ojonugwa Adejoh.
In the second half, Kareem Ogunleye and Chiedozie Okorie added two more goals for Rangers, securing the win despite a late goal from Abia Warriors’ Pascal Nwabueze in stoppage time.
With this outcome, the seven-time Nigerian champions maintained their three-point lead at the top of the table with 54 points. Meanwhile, defending champions Enyimba also secured a 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Heartland in Aba. Ekene Awaziem’s first-half goal proved decisive for Finidi George’s side in another closely contested fixture.
In the third derby of match-day 30, also held on Tuesday, Sporting Lagos claimed South-West bragging rights with a 1-0 victory over Sunshine Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. Paschal Durugbor’s ninth-minute header secured the win for Sporting Lagos.
However, despite their dominance in the second half, the visitors were unable to equalize. Their hopes were dashed in the 75th minute when their penalty appeal for an alleged foul on Emmanuel Ogbuagu was dismissed by the referee.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Bendel Insurance, the hosts, rallied from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Kano Pillars, marking their first win in four matches. Meanwhile, Kwara United clinched a 2-1 away win against basement club Gombe United.
