An Ibadan-based cleric, Kayode Amusan, popularly known as Agbala Gabriel, is facing growing allegations of sexual misconduct and mishandling of donations meant for sick individuals.
Eko Hot Blog reports that for years, the pastor built a strong reputation online as a compassionate cleric who regularly mobilised support for vulnerable people.

Videos showing him praying for struggling families and appealing for financial assistance often circulated on social media, earning him admiration from many Nigerians who saw him as a religious leader dedicated to charity.
However, that image has recently come under scrutiny as a series of allegations surfaced on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.
One of the controversies centres on the case of a woman identified as Morenikeji, who reportedly suffers from a spinal condition. Her medical situation had earlier attracted public donations.
In a viral video, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola said she had previously helped raise funds for the woman’s surgery but later withdrew after learning that the patient’s family sought assistance from the cleric.
According to Daramola, she later received information that the pastor failed to fulfil promises of accommodation and support for the woman’s surgery.
“I initially raised money for the woman’s surgery, which wasn’t enough. But as soon as the family took her to Agbala Gabriel’s care, I withdrew,” she said.
The woman’s daughter also claimed in the same video that she eventually removed her mother from the pastor’s care due to concerns over how the situation was being handled.

While the controversy surrounding the medical fundraising was still trending online, another allegation surfaced involving the cleric’s alleged relationship with a former backup singer in his church.
A blogger known as Iyalaje Courtroom alleged during a live broadcast that the pastor had a relationship with a woman identified as Bolu, who was said to be a backup singer in his church and later gave birth to twins.
The blogger claimed that the pastor initially denied the pregnancy but later accepted responsibility and provided accommodation for the woman and the children.
The allegation was also echoed by charity advocate Princess Adeyinka, who claimed she personally intervened when the matter first surfaced.
According to her, the cleric initially refused to accept responsibility for the pregnancy but later acknowledged it after pressure.
As the accusations gained traction on social media, reactions have been divided, with some supporters defending the pastor’s long-standing charity work while critics called for accountability and transparency.
Reacting to the allegations, the cleric denied any wrongdoing, insisting the claims were attempts to discredit him.
“This is how they try to bring ministers of God down,” he said. “All ministers who become famous face these kinds of lies. We see men of God like Enoch Adeboye and other well-known pastors being dragged on social media every day. These are just false allegations.”
