The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested five notorious bandits who had been on the wanted list of security agencies for alleged involvement in multiple kidnappings across northern Nigeria.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Command, in a statement on Monday, said the suspects were tracked and apprehended by the Commander of the Scorpion Squad during an operation conducted between September 20 and 28 in Nasarawa State.

According to the PPRO, preliminary investigations linked the suspects to several high-profile kidnappings in the North Central, North West, and North East regions.
The suspects were identified as Abdullahi Garuba (a.k.a. Alhaji Ore), Yusuf Inuwa (a.k.a. Alhaji Dabunda), David Kaika (a.k.a. Baba), Baba Imaji (female), and Ibrahim Nasiru (a.k.a. Pepper).

Recovered items from the operation included 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers, one locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges, and five operational motorcycles.
The PPRO noted that all five suspects have confessed to their crimes and will be charged in court upon completion of investigations. She added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other gang members currently at large.
While commending the operatives, FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao S. Adewale, assured residents of his commitment to rid the territory and its environs of crime and criminality.
