Police said the building owner, identified simply as Ebuka, is now a wanted person.
Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, who confirmed the development, described the operation as a major breakthrough in the fight against counterfeit medicines posing severe risks to public health.
According to him, officers recovered machines allegedly used to manufacture fake drugs and alter expiry dates on products. He added that the raid was based on credible intelligence from divisional police officers within the area.
Jimoh disclosed that investigators are also trailing another key suspect described as “one developer,” believed to be the financier or chief facilitator of the illegal drug operation.

The Commissioner said the command would collaborate with relevant regulatory agencies to ensure the prosecution of all individuals connected to the factory, noting that investigations would extend to other suspected linked locations.
Quoting the law, Jimoh explained that Section 57 of the Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods Act empowers officers to seize illegal drugs and related substances.
Section 9 of the Act, he added, provides for the Nigeria Police Force Squad to investigate fake drug operations and support the Federal Task Force in arrests and enforcement.
He urged Lagos residents to verify the authenticity of medicines they purchase and assured the public that any information shared with the police would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
