President Bola Tinubu has sent a message of felicitations to Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo, an elder statesman and retired aviation supervisor at Shell Company Nigeria Limited, on his 100th birthday on May 28, 2026.

Tinubu joined the Erogbogbo family in giving thanks to God for the patriarch’s century-long journey and his substantial contributions to national development.
The President specifically lauded the elder statesman’s track record of diligence and excellence across the various organizations where he worked over the decades, including the Government Printing Press, Nigeria Customs and Excise, and subsequently, Shell Company Nigeria Limited.
Beyond his formal career, the President acknowledged Alhaji Erogbogbo’s vital role as a highly respected community leader and mentor in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

He noted that the centenarian’s wisdom, counsel, and exemplary lifestyle continue to serve as a powerful source of inspiration for younger generations.
Tinubu also expressed delight that the elder statesman, who is the father of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Chairman/CEO, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, still retains a sharp mind and warm spirit at his advanced age.
Rejoicing with the centenarian, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, President Tinubu stated that he looks forward to reading Alhaji Erogbogbo’s life story, titled “Echoes of Grace: The Journey of a Century,” which was published to commemorate the historic birthday.
The President concluded his tribute with prayers that Almighty Allah will continue to sustain the elder statesman with good health, peace of mind, physical strength, and continuous happiness.
