EKO HOT BLOG reports that George made the remarks on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he said there may be no political solution capable of halting the ongoing impeachment move against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
According to the lawmaker, the Governor has repeatedly committed the same offence, accusing him of spending public funds as though they were personal resources.
George said several political interventions had already been attempted but failed because the Governor allegedly continued to breach agreements reached with lawmakers.
“I doubt if there is a political solution to stop the impeachment move against Fubara because we have had too many political solutions. What’s the need for political solution when he would say and do the same thing again?” he said.
He added that political engagement must still operate within constitutional boundaries, warning that violations of the law attract unavoidable consequences.
“Even if you want to play politics, you do that according to the law, within the confines of the law. If you allow yourself to breach the constitution you can’t blame anybody the consequence of your action. But right now, what we are talking about is the law,” George stated.
The Assembly spokesperson further said President Tinubu had made significant efforts to broker peace between the Governor and the lawmakers, only for the agreement to collapse.
“And I’m sure wherever President Bola Tinubu is, he will feel very insulted by all these because he’s a human being like you and I,” he said.

“The president went through hell to assemble stakeholders to broker this peace and the Governor stumbled over it again and reneged it. You can’t keep breaking the law and expect the president to come to your rescue,” George added.
