In Katsina State, troops attached to the Forward Operating Base in Fudma engaged suspected terrorists during a patrol along the Turare–Yantumaki Road in Dutsinma Local Government Area. According to a statement by Olaniyi Osoba, the encounter led to the neutralisation of four terrorists.
Items recovered from the scene included two AK-47 rifles, magazines, ammunition, two motorcycles, seven mobile phones and ₦153,000.
In a separate but related operation in Zamfara State, troops at the Forward Operating Base in Bagega carried out a series of offensives in Anka Local Government Area, targeting known terrorist hideouts.
The army said the operation resulted in the elimination of seven terrorists, including two identified kingpins, Anaruwa and Gomina. Anaruwa was described as the younger brother of notorious commander Kachalla Idi Aiki.

Troops initially engaged armed fighters along the Bagega–Anka Road, forcing some to retreat and abandon their motorcycles. However, the group later regrouped and launched an attack on the base.
Reinforcements from ground troops, supported by airstrikes, helped repel the assault. During the exchange, additional terrorists were neutralised, and more weapons and motorcycles were recovered.
A follow-up operation on May 3 led to the interception and neutralisation of two more suspects on motorbikes within the same axis.
The army confirmed that one soldier lost his life during the operation.
Military authorities said troops have since strengthened their presence in Bagega to sustain pressure on fleeing elements and prevent further attacks.
They also reiterated the commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to securing communities and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
