President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of three professionals from Oyo State into the governing council of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON).
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the appointments were confirmed in a letter obtained by The PUNCH, signed by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

Under the appointments, Moshood Akinwande will serve as President of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria, while Olusoji Adeoye and Olaribigbe Shiyanbola were named as council members representing Oyo State.
According to the letter, the inauguration of the newly constituted council is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the SGF Hall, Shehu Shagari Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja.
The correspondence stated that the council comprises representatives from different stakeholder groups, including the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, universities offering surveying programmes, the military and other relevant bodies.
Akinwande, who hails from Oyo town, is a retired director from the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation.
Adeoye currently serves as the Surveyor-General of Oyo State.
Shiyanbola, an indigene of Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, previously served as Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors in Oyo State and was also Secretary of the institution’s Board of Fellows.
