“President Bola Tinubu has decided to split the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria–Kaduna State, into six campuses to ensure efficiency, national coverage, and smooth operations,” the APC Ondo chapter stated.
The new campuses will be strategically located across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones:
- Akure (Southwest)
- Osubi (South-South)
- Ebonyi (Southeast)
- Ilorin (North Central)
- Yola (Northeast)
- Zaria (Northwest)
The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology has long been a key institution for training aviation professionals in the country.
Stakeholders believe that expanding into multiple campuses will enhance the training of skilled personnel, promote regional inclusion, and strengthen Nigeria’s aviation sector.
In a related development, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, clarified his remarks regarding the launch of a national air carrier.
Kana, in a statement, explained that his earlier comments on reviving a national carrier were aspirational and contingent on the initiative being beneficial to the nation.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Kana reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the aviation policies of President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, to advance the sector.
