A high level presidential delegation has arrived in Oyo State following the abduction of 46 pupils and teachers from schools in Orire Local Government Area.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the delegation, led by Femi Gbajabiamila, includes Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector General of Police Tunde Disu, Christopher Musa, Joseph Tegbe, and Sunday Dare.

The team is travelling to Esiele and Yawota communities in the Orire and Ogbomosho axes of Oyo State, where armed men reportedly carried out coordinated attacks on schools and abducted dozens of pupils and teachers.
According to information released by Sunday Dare, the delegation arrived in Ogbomosho before proceeding to the affected communities.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped when gunmen simultaneously invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools in the area, triggering widespread concern among residents and renewed fears over the security of schools in the country.
Dare stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had immediately ordered coordinated security efforts aimed at securing the safe release of the victims and apprehending those responsible for the attacks.
The visit by top security and government officials is seen as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the incident and reassuring affected communities.

The abduction has added to growing concerns over school security in Nigeria, particularly following recent attacks targeting educational institutions in different parts of the country.
Security agencies are continuing search and rescue operations as efforts intensify to secure the release of the abducted pupils and teachers.
