According to security sources, troops of the 156 Task Force Battalion were swiftly deployed after receiving reports from local informants about unusual activities around the area.

“The suspects were apprehended at about 3:00 a.m. following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected informants,” a source disclosed.
During the operation, the troops arrested two civilians believed to be providing support to Boko Haram elements operating within the region.
Items recovered from the suspects included electrical cables, which security operatives suspect may be linked to terrorist logistics and support operations.
“The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody and will be handed over to the Sector 2 Military Intelligence Brigade for further investigation,” the source added.
The development highlights ongoing efforts by the military to dismantle local support networks aiding insurgent groups in the North-East, particularly in vulnerable communities around Mainok and its environs.
