They were prosecuted on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy and armed robbery.
According to the prosecution, the offences occurred on August 11, 2018, in Oganganmodu area, off Igbole Road, Ido Ekiti, where the defendants, armed with guns and axes, attacked residents and dispossessed them of valuables, including mobile phones, cash, a Toyota Sienna bus, and other items.
One of the victims, Bosede Ojo, told the court that the attackers stormed the residence around 1 a.m., posing as officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to gain entry. When the occupants refused to open the gate, the assailants reportedly forced their way in, carried out the robbery, and fled with stolen items.
The prosecution, led by O.B. Ayeleso, presented nine witnesses and tendered several exhibits, including weapons, mobile phones, SIM cards, and the stolen vehicle.

Delivering judgment, Justice Bamidele Omotoso held that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted the defendants on all counts.
The court subsequently sentenced both men to death by hanging for conspiracy and armed robbery, in line with provisions of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act.
