Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m., leading to a brief suspension of flight activities before normal operations resumed.
Confirming the development, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, said the disruption was caused by a private aircraft that experienced a tyre burst during landing.

He, however, assured that the plane had been cleared and flight operations were back to normal.
“I was informed that a private aircraft experienced a tyre burst on landing. But it has been cleared off the runway and operations are back to normal,” Achimugu stated.

The temporary closure comes months after similar runway incidents, including cases involving Aero Contractors and Allied Air aircraft that led to flight delays and short-term shutdowns for safety checks.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the tyre burst or whether an investigation will be conducted into the incident.
