“I assure you that we will continue to make progress. Nigeria is determined to be great, and we are firmly on the path to achieving that greatness once again,” Tinubu said.
He noted that his administration’s investments are people-focused and designed to build confidence in the nation’s future, adding that ongoing macroeconomic reforms, though challenging, are already yielding results.
“While macroeconomic reforms may be challenging, they are already delivering progress for our country,” he added.
Tinubu also revealed that several projects were virtually commissioned alongside the airport, describing the facility as part of a broader development strategy tied to investments in energy, mobility, and agriculture.

“This airport project is integrated with investments in gas and energy, alongside other initiatives designed to impact every level of society,” he said, stressing that improved transportation and strengthened security infrastructure would enhance daily life and protect citizens.
“We will overcome violence and terrorism,” the President declared.
In his remarks, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, commended Tinubu’s economic reforms, noting that efforts to boost revenue through improved tax systems, digitalisation, and institutional strengthening are addressing long-standing structural issues.
According to him, the administration’s focus on infrastructure financing, public-private partnerships, and investment in key sectors is laying a solid foundation for long-term economic growth.
Abiodun added that Ogun remains one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing economies, with internally generated revenue rising from ₦40 billion to over ₦250 billion annually, and GDP increasing from ₦4 trillion to ₦17 trillion over the past seven years.
The event was attended by top dignitaries, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, alongside traditional rulers and other stakeholders.
