President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged the growing strain of rising fuel prices on Nigerians and is taking steps to ease the impact, particularly on transportation and cost of living.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this was disclosed by Umar Namadi during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in Dutse, where he addressed residents after hosting the Emir of Dutse and other traditional leaders at the Hawan Bariki Durbar.

According to the governor, the President is deeply concerned about the current situation and has already directed that measures be put in place to cushion the effect on citizens.
“The President is aware of the burden this increase will place on our people and has already begun taking measures to reduce the impact, especially in the area of transportation,” Namadi said.
He explained that the recent rise in fuel prices, linked to global developments, particularly tensions in the Middle East, has worsened pressure on households by driving up transport fares and the general cost of living.
To address this, the Federal Government is exploring alternative solutions aimed at reducing transportation costs across the country.
Namadi added that the Jigawa State Government would also support these efforts through policies and targeted interventions designed to ease economic hardship for residents.
He expressed optimism that ongoing measures at both federal and state levels would help stabilise living conditions and provide relief for Nigerians grappling with rising expenses.
The development comes amid growing public concern over the ripple effects of higher fuel prices on transportation, food costs, and other essential services nationwide.
