₦160 Million BLord VeryDarkMan

Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur and businessman, Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, has publicly criticized social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, over an alleged loss of ₦160 million from charity funds.

VeryDarkMan claimed on his social media handle on Friday that hackers had infiltrated his website, resulting in the loss of ₦160 million donated by Nigerians to his charity foundation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the influencer’s statement has sparked criticism from fans and donors, many of whom argue that hacking a website does not typically lead to the loss of funds in an account balance.

Additionally, the X Community Note, a feature that provides fact-checks on posts, disputed VeryDarkMan’s claim, stating that website hacking cannot directly result in the loss of funds from a bank account.

Reacting to the ongoing controversy, BLord, who has previously faced criticism from Otse, demanded accountability for the missing funds donated by Nigerians to assist the less privileged. BLord accused VeryDarkMan of negligence and questioned his technical understanding.

He wrote on his X handle on Saturday: “You’re always quick to call out people who run seven apps when they have minor issues with their users.

Now, just one small website under your management and you’ve lost ₦160 million. Do you think tech is as simple as singlets and pure water? You better shut down that website forever.

If you open another one, it will still get hacked, no matter the security.

This is what we techies face daily. No matter what, you’re still my boy. God has taught you a lesson. I pray you recover that money. If not, you must go to jail.”

The incident continues to generate debate online, with many calling for transparency and proper investigation into the alleged loss of funds.
