Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State have arrested a suspected notorious cultist, Tomiwa Akinwale, over his alleged involvement in cult related violence and murder in Owo.
Eko Hot Blog reports on the suspect, popularly known as Ibaka Bella, is believed to be a leading member of the Eiye Confraternity operating within Owo Local Government Area, particularly around Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.

Police said Akinwale was allegedly involved in the killing of Peter Ojo on 12 December 2025.
He was arrested by operatives of the command’s special anti cultism unit after he was sighted in Akure following intelligence reports on his activities.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the suspect had been on the police wanted list prior to his apprehension.
According to the police, Akinwale was also linked to an ongoing supremacy battle between rival cult groups in the area and had recently appeared on a cult related social media platform known as Naija Confra, where he allegedly participated in an attack on suspected members of the Aiye Confraternity along Fasawe Street in Owo.

During the arrest, officers reportedly recovered several items believed to be criminal charms suspected to be used for protection and intimidation during cult activities.
Police authorities disclosed that the suspect has already been charged to court on a six count charge bordering on murder and other offences.
The command also said efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate linked to him.
The police reiterated their commitment to tackling cultism and violent crimes across the state, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
