Former Governor of Kwara State and President of the Eighth National Assembly, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, hosted his colleagues from the Eighth Senate for an iftar gathering at his residence in Abuja, celebrating the essence of Ramadan.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Sharing moments from the event on his 𝕏 handle on Tuesday, March 18, Saraki expressed his joy at reuniting with his former colleagues, emphasizing the enduring bond they share despite leaving office nearly a decade ago.
“It’s just a few months shy of 10 years since our inauguration in 2015—yet our camaraderie remains strong,” Saraki wrote. “Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hosting my distinguished colleagues from the 8th Senate for Iftar at my home in Abuja. It’s always a joy to reunite, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company. I appreciate them all for honouring my invitation.”
Notable attendees at the gathering included Senator Shehu Sani and Samuel Anyanwu, among others. The event provided an opportunity for the former lawmakers to reconnect and reflect on their shared experiences in the Senate.

Meanwhile, a former Director-General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Akin Oshuntokun, has raised concerns over the prospects of a strong opposition coalition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Arise Television on Monday, Oshuntokun highlighted the challenges posed by the presidential ambitions of key opposition figures, particularly Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
