The Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to positioning Onigbongbo as the gateway of tourism and hospitality in Lagos, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking at the World Tourism Day 2025 Symposium and the launch of Onigbongbo Spark Fest 2025, Adebanjo described tourism not merely as leisure, but as a catalyst for job creation, commerce, and community pride.

He highlighted Onigbongbo’s thriving hospitality corridors Toyin, Opebi, Allen, Kudirat Abiola, and Ikeja GRA, as natural assets capable of redefining the area’s economic profile.

Citing “Detty December” tourism revenues, Adebanjo noted that Lagos generated $71 million in 2024, with projections to nearly double to $143.2 million in 2025, driven by favorable policies and rapid growth in nightlife, restaurants, and retail under the Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Unveiling the Onigbongbo Spark Fest 2025, the Chairman said the yuletide festival would light up the cityscape and transform the Opebi/Allen corridor into a festive replica of Ajose Adeogun Street, renowned for its holiday decorations.

He further reaffirmed commitment to the council’s F.I.N.E Agenda, calling for partnerships with government, private sector, and community stakeholders to make tourism the heartbeat of Onigbongbo’s sustainable development.
