The Katsina State Hisbah Board has destroyed a large cache of confiscated alcoholic beverages in Bakori town, Funtua Local Government Area, in a bid to uphold Islamic moral standards.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the exercise was confirmed in a statement released on Sunday by Abdul Baki Mustapha, Information Officer of the Hisbah Board.

According to the statement, DC Bashir Lawal Balarabe, alongside other Hisbah commanders from the Funtua zone, supervised the destruction of the seized drinks.

The Katsina Hisbah Board explained that the exercise is part of its ongoing efforts to curb activities deemed contrary to Islamic teachings and to preserve societal moral values.
