A special Jumat prayer was held on Friday at the Igbooye Central Mosque to commemorate the coronation anniversary of the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the prayer session formed part of activities to thank Almighty Allah for the monarch’s peaceful reign and continued guidance over the affairs of the kingdom.
The event attracted Islamic clerics, traditional chiefs, community leaders, youths, and residents of Igbooye Kingdom, who gathered in a spirit of unity and gratitude.
Special prayers were offered for the monarch’s long life, wisdom, and good health, as well as for sustained peace and development in Igbooye, Eredo LCDA, and the Epe Division.
Delivering the sermon, the Chief Imam of Igbooye Central Mosque emphasized the role of prayer and obedience to constituted authority in achieving community stability.
He said, “A peaceful community is built on faith, unity, and respect for leadership,” adding that “we continue to pray for Kabiyesi so that his reign will remain peaceful and impactful.”
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, a community elder described the Orijeru as “a symbol of peace and fatherly leadership whose reign has strengthened harmony and understanding in Igbooye Kingdom.
”A youth representative also noted that the prayer session was “a reminder that true leadership is service, which Kabiyesi has consistently demonstrated.”
In a brief message, the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, HRM Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa, expressed appreciation to the Muslim faithful and the entire community for their prayers and support.
He urged residents to continue to embrace peace and unity, noting that “the progress of Igbooye Kingdom depends on our collective commitment to harmony, mutual respect, and development.”
The coronation anniversary Jumat prayer concluded on a note of thanksgiving, with renewed assurances of support for the traditional institution and collective efforts toward the sustained growth of Igbooye Kingdom.
