The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged acid attack on a 17-year-old boy, Walid Kassim Mohammed, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to a statement released by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the incident occurred on January 14, 2026, while the victim was on his way to a mosque in Shagari, Yola South LGA.

The boy reportedly ran to the Shagari Police Division in distress after being sprayed with a substance suspected to be acidic by Idris Hamza, a resident of the area.

“The victim was immediately rushed to a hospital where he is receiving medical attention, while the suspect has been taken into protective custody,” Nguroje said.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the investigation to ensure a thorough probe into the matter.
Police assured the public that more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
