EKO HOT BLOG reports that the two public figures had engaged in a heated war of words in recent days following comments made by Momodu during an appearance on Channels Television.
Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, had criticised President Bola Tinubu, describing his administration in strong terms, including calling the President a dictator.
Fani-Kayode responded with a lengthy social media post containing harsh criticisms of the Ovation publisher. Momodu replied with his own statement, also issuing strong remarks against the former presidential aide.
However, Fani-Kayode announced a truce on his X account, citing the intervention of respected leaders.
“As a consequence of the intervention of numerous highly respected leaders for whom I have the greatest admiration, a ceasefire between myself and my friend and brother Bobby Dee is now in place.
“I will make no more comments about him and hopefully he will do same. We are both Nigerians and we share common values even though we disagree politically.
“I believe we can both move on with our lives peacefully as from today despite the hurtful things that were said on both sides over the last 24 hours.
“I thank all those that intervened and I hope that the ceasefire will hold.”
The development signals a temporary end to the public dispute, which had drawn attention across political and media circles in Nigeria.
