The Rivers State House of Assembly has rejected four commissioner nominees submitted by Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State.
The nominees were screened by lawmakers on Monday during a plenary session held at the Assembly complex in Port Harcourt.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that following the screening exercise, the Assembly confirmed five of the nominees presented by the governor.
Those confirmed are Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Lekue Kenneth and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart. However, the lawmakers declined to confirm four other nominees forwarded by the governor.

The rejected nominees are Professor Datonye Alasia, Mrs Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams and Otonye TKD Amachree. The Assembly did not immediately disclose detailed reasons for rejecting the nominees during the plenary session.
